I absolutely love using my iPad for a learning tool. My kids LOVE playing with the iPad because they think it’s neat, and I can secretly have them becoming tiny geniuses by guiding them to play great learning games 🙂
Disney Imagicademy just launched a brand new learning game for kids called Mickey’s Magical Math World.
I just downloaded the game this evening and played around a little bit. The girls are going to really enjoy this in the morning.
The game progresses in difficulty, from what I can tell, which is wonderful. It starts out really easy so the kids can get the hang of the new skills. I was matching numbers and counting with Mickey first.
Although there isn’t very clear directions on what to do, it was easy enough to figure out. I was “blasting” numbers and zooming through the sky in no time. My oldest daughter is five and loves matching, so she’ll enjoy this part.
Then I did some counting with Donald and Daisy. This will probably be too easy for my five year old, but I think the toddler will love it. It has cute graphics and for some reason, children find it hilarious when poor Donald gets knocked on the head… which he does!
I did some shape sorting with Goofy. This one worked on good motor skills of dragging and dropping and both kids will enjoy this. It was a little easy, but hopefully it’ll get harder after they do it a couple times.
There is also a really fun rewards program when the kids pass levels, which a lot of Disney families are probably familiar with… PINS!
Finally, I logged into the parent’s area. This was wonderful! Great idea for crafts, games, and other fun activities for us to do as families. I really enjoyed this resource and plan on trying some of the ideas really soon!
I’ll let the kids be the final judge on this new app in the morning, but so far, two thumbs up!
