My Walt Disney World Bucket List

A couple of my mommy blogger friends have been doing their Walt Disney World Bucket Lists lately, so I wanted to take a stab at my own!  I have visited Walt Disney World many times but there are definitely still things I haven’t been able to cross off my list.  Someday I hope to 🙂

Stay in the Cinderella Castle Suite.  This is tricky, as you can’t buy your way into this.  It’s often given out as a prize or offered as a promotion.  This is therefore the least likely of all my bucket list items to ever actually happen, but I want it.  I want to step foot inside of that gorgeous suite inside of Cinderella Castle.  I want to watch the hustle and bustle of Fantastyland through the old stained glass windows.  I want to sit in the giant bathtub and watch the LED light show above my head.  Heck, I even want to go to the bathroom on that royal thrown of a toilet in there (is that weird?).  There is currently a contest running with an included stay in the suite.  You bet your bottom dollar that I’m entering daily!!

Be picked as the family of the day at Magic Kingdom.  I have big plans for this goal and this one is attainable.  It requires early morning arrival and a little bit of luck and faith in transportation, but someday, someday I hope we’re picked as the family of the day!  This great honor would have us up by the train as Mickey and the gang arrive in the morning to greet all the Guests and officially open the Magic Kingdom.  I cry every single time I watch the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show.  I can’t even imagine the emotions of standing next to the Mayor and Mickey Mouse!

Stay at a Deluxe Walt Disney World Resort. This goal is pretty easy, I suppose.  It just requires me to spend additional money.  Typically our family stays at the Value properties such as Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, so the thought of staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and WALKING to the Magic Kingdom is a dream!  Someday this will happen, but for now, it’s simply on the list 🙂

See the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.  I have heard such amazing things about the Candlelight Processional and I want to experience it for myself.  Right now, that’s difficult as my very small children will not tolerate sitting for that long, however when they get older I cannot wait to cross this off my list.  In fact, I would like to have a Candlelight Processional Dining Package so I can have guaranteed seating and not have to worry so much about that part!

Go on a Disney Tour.  Did you know you can go behind the scenes at Disney and see some of the magic?  This is another goal that I have which currently is restricted by the age of my children and not wanting to leave them behind, but it’s almost within reach!  I think our first tour will be Disney’s Family Magic Tour but as an adult, I really want to do the Backstage Magic tour, Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and the Backstage Safari.

I would like to take part in a runDisney Event.  This seems pretty easy, besides that they sell out quickly, but as long as you register on the day it opens you can pretty easily register for a runDisney race.  The hard part is that I’m not a runner.  I have asthma and a very strong willed Lazy Bone!  But I would love to be part of a runDisney race.  I thought of running through the Parks surrounded by people who love Disney just as much as I do sounds like a blast!  Perhaps writing this will give me the extra bout of energy to get myself down on the treadmill.

Attend the Flower & Garden Festival.  I love the attention to detail at all of the theme parks.  I love the colors, the scents, the hustle and the bustle.  But every spring they have a Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot and I want to see that.  The park gets transformed into a land of amazing flower beds and topiary displays.  There are special guests, interactive demonstrations, and special merchandise offered throughout the park.  I love flowers and I love the way that Disney pays attention to detail in their decorating.  I really think I’d enjoy this festival.  And Disney Social Media Moms just produced a blog post which makes me want to go even more!  Read it HERE.

Be selected as a Disney Parks Moms Panelist.  Well, I was close.  So close I could taste it.  But I was not selected.  I will be applying again this August or September (when they open registration) and I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Attend a Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.  Historically there have been a few Disney Social Media Moms Celebrations offered during the year.  The main one is the Conference held in the spring, however that is invitation only and only the elite bloggers get invited.  Someday I hope to be on that invitation list, and I won’t lie, I dream of being invited, but let’s be realistic.  I’m new to the mommy blogging scene, so that dream will most likely have to wait.  However they also offer On the Road celebrations!  Last year one was in Chicago and hopefully there will be another one in 2015 in the Midwest.  I would love to attend one of these conferences.  I feel like it would help my career immensely and really push me to go further and do more with myself.

Have a Premium Annual Pass.  I live in Wisconsin.  I work a normal 40 hour job.  I have two children and a mortgage.  We are extremely blessed to be able to visit Walt Disney World Resort once a year or even every other year.  But it is on my Walt Disney World Bucket List to someday own a Premium Annual Pass.  This would allow unlimited access to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, the water parks, awesome resort discounts, and much more!  I know many people who just jump over to the parks to celebrate their children’s good grades, or a birthday, or even just a sunny day… and I would love to do that!  I’d love to be able to take a couple long weekend trips and experience Walt Disney World during the different times of the year.  So, on the bucket list it goes.  Sadly, I did not win the Powerball lottery this past week so this dream is a ways off!

How about you?  Do you have a Walt Disney World Bucket List?  I’d love to hear about it?  If you’re a blogger, feel free to paste a link to your bucket list in the comments section too!
